Winter Putting

My Office
November 1, 2013 - I'm fairly certain that most East Coast golfers have put their clubs away for the season.  Big mistake !  Continuing to putt throughout the winter will have a huge impact on your putting next season.

Take a look around your home or office to see if there's a spot where you can leave your putter and few balls.  A low-pile carpet is great or a yoga mat on a hardwood floor will work well.  The best putting season I ever had was after the first winter that I putted on my living room carpet.  I haven't done it in a few years, but recently realized that my office/yoga mat is a great spot.  It's an old house, so the floors aren't perfectly level, but it doesn't matter.  The goal isn't to hit the target, it's simply to maintain your putting stroke.

It's hard to believe that 2013 is closing in on us, but my focus is already on 2014 Spring golf.  Looking forward to it...Jayn

October, 2013 - Welcome to Fall in New England, the best time of the year to be out on the golf course.  All of the leagues have ended and the beginners and hackers who were frustrated with their game all summer have packed away their clubs for the season. (Yaay!)  The course is quiet, amazingly beautiful and not too hot.  So...It's the perfect time to go out for a round of Wicked Easy Golf Coaching !  We can take our time, play more than one ball and practice, practice, practice.   But, with or without me, don't miss out on this really sweet time of the golf season.  There's nothing better.

On another note, do you have any great golf photos that you'd be willing to share with me (for use here on my blog?)   If yes, please email them to me at Jayn@WickedEasyGolf.com.   Very much appreciated...Happy Fall Golf, Jayn

Golf Magic

September 27, 2013 - Believe it ?  Anyone could have placed these balls down and said they ended up on the fairway like this from the tee box.  But I got this photo directly from Frank on the day he hit the shot.  The excitement he expressed as he went for his phone to share the photo was pure golf magic.  I loved being in that space with him.

It's a good story actually.  Hardworking, busy guy who hasn't taken time off to play golf in forever...Friend calls him at the last minute and tells him they're going to play golf - won't take no for an answer.  Beautiful day and golf spontaneously creates a moment in history.  How many times do you think this has ever happened ?  I say not too many.

It's one of things that I think every golfer, whether they realize or not, loves about golf.  Every single shot holds the possibility for something magical to happen.  The tragedy is that so many golfers tend to focus on the bad shots.  Just the shift of energy in the last two sentences is amazing.  Writing about the possibilities in golf and then shifting the focus to the negative was profound for me when I read it back.  Wow...Such a clear demonstration of how what you think about effects your experience of something - even just reading about it....

So, on that note, I'd like to welcome you to my new Wicked Easy Golf blog.  I'm excited to have a space to write about my experiences on the golf course and hopefully inspire you to take a new approach to your golf game.  Thanks for reading and please keep coming back...Jayn
